Patients pay for your services in advance with HealthMe, and once a patient is seen and treated a redemption code triggers payment into your bank account via ACH in less than 72 hours.

How does HealthMe help my practice?

HealthMe helps medical practices create, price, and transact transparently-priced bundled healthcare packages. Patients know their total cost in advance of treatment and pre-pay for prescribed services. Your practice is paid for services electronically within 72 hours of treating the patient with no paperwork needed. Because patients pre-pay for services, HealthMe dramatically reduces no-show rates and eliminates non-productive billing conversations.

What if a patient asks for a refund?

We understand that patients may from time to time require a refund for a package they purchased with HealthMe. Our policy is to provide the full refund of the purchase price if appointments are cancelled at least 2 business days before your scheduled visit the healthcare provider. If the cancellation is made within 2 business days of the appointment, the purchase price will no longer be refundable; however the appointment may be rescheduled one time at such time as agreed between the patient and the provider. Is my data secure?

Yes, all patient and practice data with HealthMe is secure. We place a great importance on securing both provider and patient data. Our payment processor is a division of PayPal and has extremely secure banking level data protection in place. All credit card transactions are processed using a bank-level, validated Level 1 PCI DSS compliant service provider, creating a secure checkout experience. We do not collect or store protected health information.

Who are direct-pay patients?

Direct-pay patients represent self-insured business owners, young “healthy” patients, medical tourists, uninsured patients, out of network patients, and patients from faith-based sharing ministries. Many patients with HSAs and HDHPs also are direct-pay patients in certain circumstances. See our blog for more details about direct-pay patients.

Can in-network patients participate?

Yes, patients with private insurance may be able to participate subject to the terms of their individual contracts, your practice’s contracts, and applicable state laws. Fees for services rendered in a Medical Care Package will not be paid by insurance companies, but patients may be able to use waivers to opt out of their business benefits (in Florida) and some insurers may credit the patient’s payments toward their deductibles though they generally are not obligated to do so. If an insured patient requests to pay directly for services, your HealthMe account representative can provide you with a waiver to have the patient sign to opt out of insurance.

Can Medicare patients use HealthMe?

No, patients who are beneficiaries of government programs are not eligible for participation. If a beneficiary of a government program or an in-network patient inadvertently purchases a self-pay package, HealthMe will provide the patient with a full refund, and the provider can bill the patient’s insurance through their typical process.

What is a healthcare package?

We’ve created patient-centric healthcare packages that represent common diagnoses and treatment plans for each specialty using transparent pricing. These healthcare packages allow patients to better understand exactly what their doctor’s visit costs and what services are included. These packages are based on best practice guidelines leading to quality healthcare at a fair price. Providers can choose their own price for these packages that appear on their healthcare marketplace. Our healthcare packages generally include a visit with the doctor and simple diagnostic studies that are often ordered in the workup of that condition such as basic diagnostic testing like labs, EKG, x-rays. We also offer ancillary services such as labs, MRI, physical therapy as well as outpatient surgical procedures.

Do I need to provide all package services?

Yes. Our goal is to give patients a bundled care plan that includes a visit with the provider and basic testing and procedures to treat that condition.

Can I make my own custom packages?

We do not currently support custom packages.

How do I get paid?

Patients are emailed a redemption code at the time of purchasing care through HealthMe’s portal. When they arrive for their scheduled appointment they will present the redemption code and you and/or your staff can redeem the code in your HealthMe account. Payment is made electronically via ACH payment within 72 hours of redeeming the code.
